In the early sixties if you brought you brought your safety patrol bad and belt you could see movies for 25cents. My best friend and I would walk from our apartments on NW 5th //ct and 80 ST. First Royal Castle and then the movie at the Rosetta.

The theater also went under the name 'King' for a time before being renamed 'Rex'...

I think the Rosetta movie on Saturday was 25 cents. However I know Hamburger's were 15 cents and Root beer in a frosted mug was 5 cents at Royal Castle prior to 1957.

Clifford, thank you for pointing out that the Rex was formerly the Rosetta for decades prior to the renaming. I loved the Rosetta in the mid 50's when they had a summer movie club for kids and admission prices were downright cheap even for a kid. I attended many movies there for a few summers prior to 1957 when we moved to northwest Hialeah. And I loved the Royal Castle to the north of it too.
