I've known Fred since he was a LTJG in 1988 when we were in the same class together at the CG Training Center in Petaluma. Later that year he gave me my Warrant Officer oath on the stern of DiMillo's floating restaurant in Portland, Maine and a year or two later he moved to South Florida.
