James, thank you very much for recalling the sequence of events regarding the train lines. I've changed the date to the 1960's.

If this is the Seaboard station, the photo must be from the 1960s. The Florida East Coast Rwy handled Atlantic Coast Line trains to Miami (taking them over at Jacksonville) until the FEC strike began in January 1963. After the strike began, the ACL rerouted its Miami bound trains along its own tracks from Jacksonville down past Orlando to Auburndale, where they were connected to the Seaboard for the rest of the trip to Miami. Then Seaboard and the ACL merged in 1967.

So you would never have seen ACL passenger cars at the Seaboard station in Miami prior to 1963.

Thank you both for posting. I used this station to go to and from summer camp up in Inverness in 1956. I also arrived there in August 1966 because all the airlines but Delta (non-union) were on strike when I graduated from Coast Guard boot camp at Cape May, NJ. It was a 24-hour trip in hell from Philly as every train was packed with travelers who couldn't fly due to the strike.

I left Miami from this station to go to Georgia for basic training in the Army in 1964. Wow!

The Atlantic Coast Line Railroad shared the station with the Seaboard Airline Railroad. The other station in Miami was on Flagler Street and NW 2nd Ave. and was the home of the Florida East Coast Railroad. Its funny the ACL traveled the gulf coast of Florida, the FEC traveled the east coast and the Seaboard traveled the middle of the state.
The FEC went on strike in about 1962 and never settled. That was the end of FEC passenger service. Thus the east coast of Florida had no passenger rail service from 1962 on. Henry Flagler had started the FEC in the later 1800s.
