Knowing that provides an even greater sense of scale. That is one giant of a strip mine, and would make a fascinating post modern theater.

They are driving on the left because the are loading on the left side of the haul road! That way the loaded truck doesn’t have to yield coming out of the hole. Loaded truck has the right-of-way so it doesn’t loose momentum. Takes a lot of energy to got that much mass rolling. Stopping for an empty truck wastes time, energy and money.
Looks like they are drilling the next series of holes for blasting too.
