Challenge: Using Color

Home, Hobby Room

We use color everyday in our lives. In fact, color tends to be an important part of my hobbies. This is a part of a cross stitch pattern by one of my favorite and most challenging designers Teresa Wentzler. It is The Lady of Shalott. The challenge of a TW piece comes in all the blended threads (taking one strand of one color and adding a strand of a different color) and what we fondly refer to as "confetti stitches" meaning the symbols seem to jump around all over the place to create almost a painted quality when completed. I started this one several years ago and finished the border. This portion of the pattern is the interior which I will start on in the near future. You must take breaks from a TW so as not to go insane! If you would like to see what the piece looks like currently for me, you can see it here.

What a great way to meet the "colour" challenge! I'd say that's thinking outside the box! Hmmm . . . talented AND clever! :-)

Gosh, you've already done quite a complicated section, still a very
long way to go! My Mum loved doing these but now her eyes and hands are
letting her down. Love to see this when you finish it!

Cool shot, just the colour to add and it'll be perfect!! Excellent take on the theme.

I haven't used one of these in a lot of years, but I recognized it immediately
good way to get a B&W version of COLOR =))))

I don't know another human being who could do these but you. Can't wait to see the finished product.
