06-10-04 the chymes

Holburn Street, Aberdeen

There are a lot of these stencil "pictures" cropping up around Aberdeen at the moment.

Guess the idea comes from this guy - banksy - I've shown you some of his work before, here, and here.
He's becoming very fasionable too, Charles Saatchi tried to buy the entire side of a house in London,
just to get one of his other works. He was going to display it in his new white cube gallery.
And recently he caused a stir, by depositing a three and a half tonne statue, In the middle of Islington.
You can read more about the "trust no-one" statue here.
He even glued one of his own paintings, complete with a card of explanation in the Tate fairly recently!
And recently he was commissioned to produce the front cover of blurs "think tank" album.

I was going to show you some more of the Riverside,
but one man's vandalism, is another man's street art,
and I thought this was kind of cool.

Plenty more of these to come in the weeks ahead!

Really cool Dominic! I really like the texture, and the monochrome tone fits perfectly :-)

Nice shot of the 'art' love the space you've included and the positioning in the frame.

Kind of reminds me of the old Two Tone logo. Nice shot, and thanks for the explanation.
