Cripple Creek

We spent the day in and around Cripple Creek and the surrounding mining areas on the southwest slopes
of Pikes Peak. Whilst an old historic town with a history going back to the late 1800s it seems it
has now been overrun by casinos for income. Still, it's a lovely town to wander around with some
almost surreal old and new mined landscapes surrounding it.

In the mean time I have finished sorting out my pictures from Royal Gorge, which are at,

other sizes: small medium original auto

I found a huge piece of Turquois (sp) on a dirt road in this town. Very interesting place!

Can't quite remember what the surrounding towns looked like back in 1958 but I still remember the cabin we stayed in brrrr! Beautiful shot!

Theres quite a blend of old & new...all seems to be working in unison though. Nice street scene, Dave.
