Just a little experiment

Not sure what I was trying to do with this image,
but I got to this point and said, "Stop!"

What the heck... :-)

Canon EOS 300D Digital Rebel
1/200s f/4.5 at 105.0mm iso400 with Flash full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

I'm not sure what you were trying to do either, but it looks good. It has a "peterson guide to california roses" feel to it. Your extraction is almost perfect except for that one part you had the problem with. Its the serrated blades... they are murder to extract.

Nice set up Gary. I like your idea to reverse them also. Try it!

Always 'leave em wanting more', Gary! Your alternative idea would be good also. It's good to play around with PS and see what happens

I like the treatment. You stopped in a good place.

Thanks Dave, but looking at it now, I have a new idea. I should have made the black and white the larger subject, with the "actual" flower smaller, and reversed their positions. Maybe i'll give that a try!

This looks like a magnificent place to stop.
I can't imagine enhancing it any further. GMV
