The Aftermath

A few moments earlier, these colorful papers wrapped
beautiful gifts to one another. Then, in a flash, they
became just waste.

I think a lot of people forget the meaning of Christmas
almost as quickly as they discard the giftwrap.

I'm sorry. Am I the only one who experiences a
major letdown thirty minutes after Christmas day is born?

Know where you're coming from with the photo and commentary, but I'm finding as the kids get older, and I get older, and the rest of the family gets older, that every holiday-Christmas, Easter, Mem Day etc-that can be spent together is so precious and fleeting that it doesn't matter what the occasion is, just enjoy the all the time together that you've been given.

Hope the let down was temporary.

Just live the christmas and everything will be as magical as you want. What can I say with that 2 babies this year and all the miracle with Angel fighting for being with us for Christmas, has been a magical christmas and promise to be a magical 2005.
Gifts are fantastic and is nice interchanging gifts, that`s very OK, but we shouldn`t allow our self being involved by the "shopping fever" in this days and kkep on mind our really meaning for Christmas!!!
You have 2 lovely daughters who, I`m sure, Have made your Christmas very special!!!

Gary, it's all part of the holiday.
Look what a colorful motif it gave you. Smile :)

I can't say I share in your feelings this year. With the exception of the 70 mile drive to my son's place, it was a near perfect day for me. Now get in there and get that mess cleaned up Gary! LOL!

I'm always in a daze when I see the room so carefully prepared become a waste dump in a short space of time...however, I do enjoy the faces of our family as they receive something they were totally unprepared for.

Nice photo, Gary. I think it's the anticipation and the subsequent let-down. I keep hoping Christmas will one day be as magical as when I was little.
