_MG_6708 fill flash

Set the camera on manual and chose a shutter speed that wouldn't overexpose outside, as in the last picture, but this was taken earlier in the day when it was naturally darker outside. I will try the same technique when it's real bright out that window using the same combination of settings. I dont think the out of focus trees are particularly attractive, by the way. A larger aperture would have put them out of focus, but both cats might not have been in focus!

Lighting may be better, but I personally prefer the previous picture - maybe because I was closer (or cropped more closely).

Ditto below, definitely a better exposure! You can see their faces better and the trees are not so light.

I find this to be a much better exposure than the previous image.

Yes, I like this much better. The cats look terrific and it is nice to see the better exposure on the trees.
