First denoised original with Noise Ninja. Lightened more aggressively with a slide of the top point in Curves to the left. Cropped and resized down. Sharpened with Smart Sharpen, checking for telltale white halos around edges. Actually the setting was 500 - .5 - 0 (gaussian). Further sharpened eyes with the sharpen tool. Noticed background was looking very noisy so I selected only it and denoised with Noise Ninja. Actually, I prefer the previous version. The white areas on this one are too white.
