I've been looking for a long time for an action to put an old-fashioned deckle edge on images and in my hunt found I could buy one from several stock photo sites on the web. Thought a bit about whether or not I wanted to pay for one and decided to go into my photo pile to find one and was surprised at how few I really had, and so far, they've been square.

I scanned this edge, got rid of extraneous matter and smoothed out the edge with the eraser tool, then saved the file in png format so the center and edges would be transparent.

Inserted a picture of Erleen and flood filled the border with a color from the image, which I lightened.

If I need a rectangular deckle edge I will cut this one apart and fill in with a section from it.
