This male Giant Water Bug was guarding eggs. We found him at the edge of the "Frog Pond" on the Main Marvine Trail.

Yes, Kate, those are eggs being guarded by the adult. One of the common names of this bug is Toe Biter. I guess they can inflict a painful bite. I don't want to find out.
