Fallen Comrades

There is a funny thing in life.
Somebody points out something
that you never notice in life.
All of a sudden you see it everywhere.
Such is the story of this tree.
Fallen for months, nowhere to go.
Nobody even taking the time
to remove its dead carcass.
I never would have noticed it,
but today I did.
