Door Ding Protected!

I have owned a few cars in my day.
There was the 74 Firebird (yowza).
There was the 72 VW Squareback.
Oh, can't forget that 69 VW Bug.
Toss in a few motorcycles on the way.
A few pickup trucks of course.
And don't forget the Jeep.
I had fun and good times in them all.
But this one is the most fun to drive.
Today the odometer reads 220 miles.
I took it out for a quick spin today.
No big deal, just a short drive.
And then the drive got a little longer.
Not because of anything but fun.
It is just so enjoyable to drive it.
I'm not sure if it is because it is a stick.
No, it is just the way it handles.
How a curve suddenly looks straight.
How a quick tap of the gas jumps it.
And how you have to obey speed limits.
Almost every back road I wait.
I could be going twice as fast.
The car could handle it no problem.
I run one gear lower to handle it myself.
It strains at the leash of my feet.
All too soon the drive ends.
Thwarted by 2 simple snow flakes.
Not in this car, no friggin way.
I u-turn and run for the cover of my garage.
Almost giddy that I get to use an on-ramp.
And then I tuck it into the garage.
I look at the weather reports.
Drat, maybe Friday will be clear.
Another reason to look forward to Friday.
