The Tonnerre (L9014)

D'autres escale auront lieu à Rio de Janeiro,
Captown
et Dakar,
avant que le BPC ne rentre à Toulon fin juillet.

The projection and command (BPC) ship Tonnerre is currently sailing off South Africa.
Twice a day, it holds a videoconferencing with the Defence stand by way of a
Syracuse III satellite link. This telecommunication stands as a major exhibition
of the thematic presentation of Space, and fits within the section
“Transmission in the name of action”.

This link, between Paris and the BPC shows the French forces’ ability to make
exchanges over a very long distance. Furthermore, system Syracuse III is highly
secure: a very high resistance to jamming combined with a protection against
intrusion.
