testing a 20+ year old 300/4.5 ED~IF and EXIF & metering reporting. I added 2/3 stop of light and shot this with the 1980's vintage lens in afternoon open shade. It doesn't come through all that well in this hastily-made web reduction, but this slender,lightweight,solid manual focus lens resolves a very high degree of detail within the depth of field band at this,the absolute minimum focusing distance of trhis lens,which is marked at 2.5 meters.
