This spectacular moth has wings nearly 3 inches long (i.e., a nearly 6 inch wingspread)! It sat above my bug light in the early morning. After photographing it in place, I got it to crawl onto a piece of wood, took a few more photos as it spread it's wings, then placed it in a somewhat protected spot with all day shade by first getting it to crawl onto my hand. What an experience!
