Searching Bear Flutes.jpg

For Christmas I received 2 Searching Bear warbling Native American Flutes. The one with the Mother of pearl inlay totem is an E NAF. This is a near bass flute with with some of the bass NAF note limitations. The one with the swan totem was custom made. I asked for the swan totem since I often play for the wild swans at the marsh. Since the NAF and totem was cutom made, I had no idea what it would look like. However, he did a very good job and I am happy with it looks. It also has the most wonderful sound and provides a few more overnotes than most NAF. Akthough it is an F# it will cover the full range of a G and is only one note short of my A NAF. Both are made of selected Black Walnut for the special grain. While it adds a little to the cost over the plain walnut, I am very happy with both of them. After vacation, I will do some mutlitrack recording with the 3 of them and maybe a drum track alao.
