7-28-04 Moon.jpg

I was trying to beat the clouds and did not succeed. This is taken through clouds which explain the lack of brightness and the varying sharpness across the moon. I was wanting to take some higher power photos, but the clouds got them all. This was an early focusing shot at low power. This was taken with an MN56 which is a CA free f/6.0 scope well suited to eyepiece projection or prime focus photography. The A1 is the most CA free camera I have found for astrophotography.

Wayne..this is such a humbling experience. To see the moon in all that black space lends itself to a feeling of infinity. Beautiful shot.

It's true, dude; this image does tend to ROCK!
The lighting you were able to capture almost highlights that particular crater; you can sense the impact from who-knows-how-many millions of years ago. Great shot.
