Rainy Day.jpg

I was setting out on the porch enjoying the rain and wanted to take a photo. Everytime I manually focused on the raindrops on the window, the background was too sharp for me. Alas, that is where my old obsolete C-2100 shined. It had a physically larger lens than my A1. Although the 35mm equivalent is good for magnification (Field of View), the DoF is based on the lens actual size not what the CCD crops out of the middle of the view. I ended up putting on the BMacro which did not give the DoF I wanted. But this is what it did. You can still see the honey suckle blossom but not make out what it is. If there is anyone who wants to buy me my dream lens (85mm f/1.2), just let me know. :)

thats pretty cool. Thanks for the explanation, too. I'll also take one of those lenses if anyone is buying.

Experimentation - it's always valuable, even if you don't (initially) get the results you want. Thanks for sharing!

Nice one. I have been unable to catch raindrops this way. Now I know why.
