You're right, I find that the pictures I like best in my own galleries are usually not very "popular". It's not a popularity contest, but an endeavour to take better pictures. This one caught my eye in the thumbnail immediately. The color of the grass in the foreground contrasts very well with the blue sky. Great composition. You could boost up the blue color and increase the contrast a bit to see what happens.
