I shot some flowers this noon under a hazy sky and gusty winds, so I set my shutter speed as high as I could in an attempt to freeze the subjects. That, of course, led to wide-open aperture and short DOF. The result was pretty startling. These iris were really that bright blue. This is pretty much out of the camera -- a little sharpening and level adjustment. (This is, literally, my first shot of dozens taken of these flowers, and as of this moment, I haven't even seen the others; can't wait.)
I also ran a poster edges on this image, which also had some very intriguing results:
