Taken at the New Orleans Zoo -- and what a zoo it is. It is beautifully laid out, seemingly designed with the animals' best interest in mind (short of not being in a zoo at all, I guess), and full of interesting and healthy looking critters. The "pond" in which this photo was taken was just full of birs that were minimally camera-shy -- several variety of ducks and coots, herons, pelicans, cormorants, and kingfishers (I think -- I didn't read all the signs.); I was like a pig in a mud puddle.
