1/19/05 - Getting Ready?

Some days are better than others. Tomorrow's not going to be one of the good ones. Not really looking forward to tomorrow's celebrations here in DC -- a little disappointed ... OK, bitter -- on a lot of levels. I think I have a mandate to do a lot of drinking, and crying, the next four years. We'll deal with it; we always have. At least we're not shooting each other; we just send our kids over to face that.

Nice image but I like the second one because the lighting is softer. Let's try to be a little optimistic and make the best of things. Last week our area had six funerals for six Louisiana National Guardsmen killed in a vehicle that was bombed. Last night there was a huge service at the cathedral. It ended with the priest singing the Star Spangled Banner. Terrible times.

Seems a lot of people share your thoughts. I have noticed a lot of alcohol-related images today, even William Bates. Your image goes with Ken Zimmerman's, in my mind. Might be a difficult choice between his coffee and Baileys and yours. I have neither, but I do have some old wine that just might do the trick.
