Head study of a life-sized sculpture of a sailor in peacoat with dufflebag waiting at dockside. (So, he's really not on watch, as such.) The sculpture stands at the edge of a large plaza representing all the oceans of the world. All this comprises the Navy Memorial on Pennsylvania Avenue, right across from the National Archives. As a former naval officer, I found this to be a particularly evocative sculpture and this head study all the more so.
PS - Extract subject from background. Darken and lower contrast sharply on background. Frame.
First day of DC touring with Karen Leaf. Some images from the day. Not sure which I'll leave and which I'll move to extras. Compromising shots of Karen being saved up.
