Another feast day. I visited the butterfly exhibit at Wheaton (MD) Regional Park's Brookside Gardens today. I spent most of the time trying to shoot one of the irridescent blue beggars (not the Latin name) -- to no avail. The damn things flutter around all the time (got a new appreciation for Mohammid Ali), and when they do light, they close their wings and show only a drab brown with eyeball-like circles (evidentally designed to scare of mean bugs and photographers). Instead, I got shots of more leisurely critters. Note: Lone flowers are usually due to a slow shutter finger. PS mainly to de-emphasize background, if at all.
