This is the sight which greets me at the top. When the bridge was newly completed, heavy locomotives
were driven onto the bridge's double rail tracks, end to end, in order to test and demonstrate its
strength. The traffic lanes on this side of the concrete strip were once tramway tracks. Now they are
just two extra lanes for cars, trucks and such. The eight lanes up here were augmented a few years
back by a submerged four lane harbour tunnel below - 12 lanes in all.
