Soon the Katoomba shopping and business precinct begins to come into view. Katoomba is an old place
and it shows. Lots of money has been spent to make streetscapes look more attractive but its
relatively disadvantaged population has been unable to sustain an upmarket looking environment
supported by heavy business investment and renewal.
