It occurs to me that I rarely actually consult the Shorter Oxford anymore. The internet is just so
quick amd handy. I still find the volumes somehow reassuring on my bookshelf.

A sign of the times David. I bet future generations will have no need for such books. Bud some dictionaries are full of info beyond words. As a kid I used to like to look at my parent's dictionary pictures for flags of countries, semaphore, languages, symbols etc.
