This is an Australian 50c coin. It has a 12 faceted rim and is standing upright (on one of its edge
facets) upon the kitchen table. It is being lit directly by the afternoon sun. The light from the
coin is so intense that the rest of the kitchen is rendered black. The shadow, at the bottom is
caused by the camera blocking part of the window light. Someone said that in the thumbnail it
looked a little like a picture of the moon.
