This old wall did not seem to appear on any of the maps, but it suddenly loomed before us. I have
been unable to find authoritative information concerning it, but I suspect that at one time it
formed part of the boundary for the old North Head Military Reserve. In any event a hole was in
evidence through which hikers could pass (if they bent far enough over for the purpose).
