This is perhaps one of the most valuable cars on the face of the earth. This 1958 Ferrari 250 Pontoon Fender Testa Rossa V12 rolled over the auction block at the RM Auction in downtown Monterey, CA in August, 2010, and it failed to reach the reserve with a high bid of only $10,700,000. How much did the owner hope to sell for? Rumors stated he'd hoped for a world record selling price of $12M to $15M. This TR is serial number 0738 and is claimed to be the most correct and authentic of the 21 Pontoon Fender TRs produced. I also wonder if it might be the only one that is yellow (you'd expect nearly all of the 21 produced would be painted in Ferrari's trademark red). I took this pic of it alongside the 1949 Delahaye Type 175 S Roadster which sold for $3,300,000.
