Interesting. I like your elaborations, Dave. Me being a Photoshop junkie, I would have created this purely digitally. To each his own, you're probably more comfortable with illusions via optics and lighting.
You nailed it. It's an 8" christmas ball. The curve is cut out of foam core and placed in front. Everthing else was lit behind it. I propped the ball up on a prism and just moved the camera until it looked like it was resting on it. An optical illusion really but lots of fun. I am gonna shoot a series of these. Thanks...
