My friend Steven and I wound up wandering into State Gamelands #285. We did a little hiking around as the sky grew darker with heavier clouds and the chill air blasted us as we work our way along a ridgeline. We didn’t spot any critters other than a few turkey buzzards but we did hear an owl nearby and found a lot of fox scat.

All along this ridge there were yellow-flowered Dogwood trees. I have seen them with flowers of white and a light pink but never yellow. I had a heck of time trying to snap macro photos of them in the high winds… LOL Also, the backgrounds are purple not because of any digital manipulation but because they are simply purple…
