Département du Lot (Occitanie).

Cité mariale édifiée au XII ème siècle, haut lieu de pèlerinage depuis les temps médiévaux, on y vient pour vénérer la statue d’une Vierge Noire et Saint Amadour ... ou simplement pour admirer les lieux.
Le site est, en effet, spectaculaire : Accrochés à une falaise haute de 150 mètres le village et les édifices religieux dominent la rivière Alzou, un affluent de la Dordogne...
Le site est classé au Patrimoine mondial de l’Unesco.

Marian city built in XII ème century, High Place of pilgrimage since the medieval times, people come there to worship the statue of a Black Virgin and saint Amadour or simply to admire the place.
The site is spectacular, indeed : hung on on a 150 meters high cliff, the village and the religious buildings dominate the river Alzou, tributary of the River Dordogne...
The site is classified on the UNESCO world heritage list.
