Just saw one in my garden this morning here in the North Dallas suburb, McKinney, Texas. Bright yellow and small. First time to see this beautiful little bird and I've lived here 21 years. 9/17/2013... Susan D.

In September Prothonotary Warblers should be well into their fall migration so it is reasonable to expect to see them south of their breeding range at that time of year.

Mike Hertel / El Paso, TX

Today, my wife and I were watching our Hummingbird feeder, and a yellow and brown winged bird began drinking. I immediately checked the bird guide and it was this guy. I did not know that this guy was in west Texas.

I live in La Porte Texas. I saw a bird quickly enter and exit my yard today that in search of identifying it, the Prothonotary Warbler is very close. It was as bright as a canary. There were some bits of dark which could have been the wings, but not sure. I was within 20 ft, but seemed to perch similar to a house wren. Could it be found in my coastal town?
