Along with her other couples, we were invited to a Christmas party at the home of our Lamaze instructor. Our son, Rob, was born in Sept., 1982. It just happened that I was the only new Dad able (or maybe willing) to take the time off to attend the party. It was mostly attended by new Moms, their new babies, and some other children. The fire was caused by a candle in the bathroom setting wallpaper on fire. It spread quickly, engulfing the bathroom in flames, and burning around the top of the door into the hallway within a few minutes. Fortunately, no one was hurt, outside of some smoke inhalation that I came away with, and the fire was extinguished before it could burn into the attic.
