Edsel Ford was Henry Ford's only child and was President of Ford Motor Co. from 1919 until his early death in 1943. He was often overruled by his stubborn Father, but was instrumental in moving the company past the utilitarian " . . . any color as long as it's black" Model T. His styling successes included the Lincoln Zephyr, Lincoln Continental and 1936 Ford Roadster, which was considered one of the most stylish cars of the 1930s. It's a shame that the car that was given his name as a tribute became associated with one of the great automobile flops of all time.
