Augsburg, Bavaria

White or square-lipped rhinoceros

In their days, these were the oldest square-lipped rhinos living in a zoo.
Unfortunately, both of them died shortly one after another two years ago.
They were in their high forties. This was one of their last battles.

Thank you, CJ, Mary Anne, Penny, Doug, Jonas and Rod. Yes, Mary Anne, the ground was shaking, and I can still hear the sound of the horns cracking against each other. Penny, I have added some info to the caption. Rod, sharpening may be a bit overdone; I tried to emphasize the skin structure. The colour one looks rather gray also; if I find the original file somewhere on my external HD I'll post a link to the original version.
Regards
Gerald

Nice one Gerald, well done. I don't know if it's because these are white Rhino but the detail of the skin seems too much, like over sharpened. How does the colour one look?

Nice display of power Gerald. Outstanding B&W treatment and the composition is just right. -COAmature

And their head-to-head positioning emphasizes the power behind both beasts. You can almost hear the ground shake. Well done.

Gerald, this is a wonderful picture of power - one rhino would have been good but two in this pose is terrific! Love it! :-) CJ
