Itsa deal Doug, Thanks mate:-)

Perfectly lit. This shot might just get my vote so leave it alone. -COAmature

Thanks Carole:-) This shell is almost white so I might try some more natural looking shots............. then again I might not:-)

Nice shell shot and I like the idea of lighting it from below and the side like this - brings out the texture nicely. CJ
Rod 22-Feb-2007 11:53
Thanks Jammy mate:-) It starting to look a bit gaudy to me after nearly a week of looking at it. Maybe I should do a more natural looking shot for a longer lasting satisfaction & not worry about getting votes:-)

Wow Rod, this almost looks like a neon shell!

Thanks Cat:-) I might have another go at this shot on the weekend as I was a bit overwhelmed by the bright light coming up from the light box which I tried covering with the Mereana's materials from her cutting table. If this is still here at the weekend you will know I failed to get a better shot or I was too lazy to do the set up:-)

This is great! Yes, Rod! You should use your light box more often! -Cat

Thanks Sue Anne & Brent:-) This is still the original but I have renamed it "Shell" instead of "Curly Bit" as people were looking at the curly bit too much:-) I did have two shell shots up at first, that's why I named this one curly. It's safe for the moment:-)

Beautiful Rod. I like the colors and textures and the lighting you used to bring it out. (Impressive with the lightbox) :)
Brent 18-Feb-2007 17:43
Now this I like Rod. The warm golden color here is really great and the compostion is very well done. The light looks pretty good to me- is this a re-shoot? Well done mate!
Rod 17-Feb-2007 23:36
Thanks Mary Anne, Neo & Henry:-) I shot this on a light box so the shell is basically lit from within & window light from the right. I had to put all sorts of things on the lightbox as the light seemed way too much. Maybe I should take the light box from its shelf & set it up better for taking picys as I just shoot where things are most of the time, gawd I'm a lazy sod:-)
ctfchallenge17-Feb-2007 18:06
Or how about turning it so the light seems to be coming from within?
--Mary Anne
Henry 17-Feb-2007 15:47
I agree with Neo, and it even has Jamdiver's "Fibonacci Sequence" spiral! :)
Guest 17-Feb-2007 15:07
This is the best of the three, but I wish there was more light coming from the front.
Rod 17-Feb-2007 09:26
Thanks Christina:-) I'm an artiiiiiiiiist a:-)
