Old Meets New

Vancouver, BC

Nikon S rangefinder w/ 50mm f/1.4 Nikkor S.C. (1951) photographed with a Sharp SH251i "i-mode" cellphone (2002)
(I hate bugs but love cameras, so while this photo doesn't quite match the technical calibre of the other great bug shots in this gallery,
nevertheless I thought this shot was fun. And a whole lot less creepy! :-)

As is the rapidly growing trend in Japan, tiny cellphones like this one are now sporting built-in
CCD cameras which can take photos and display them on a
hi-res colour TFT display (in this case, 310,000 pixel CCD and a 2" diagonal,
16bit/pixel display, showing a 288x352 JPEG). Maybe in a year or two, we'll have phones/cameras like this in North America...

BTW, I know - it's blasphemy having a Nikon camera in the CTF challenge! my apologies :-)

Canon PowerShot G2 , 7-21mm f/2.0-2.5
