Popeye in B&W*

Popeye is a B&W Blue Heeler/Aussie Sheperd mix, now converted to B&W. His name Popeye for the white ring around his eye. The background is our fire ring from our campout earlier in the week.

other sizes: small medium original auto

That sounds complicated Jano, you must be brainy:-) I sometimes use lab colour to sharpen in the Lightness channel & for B&W conversion. It gives a good tonal range. But I forget how to do it sometimes & don't bother:-)

Thanks Rod - I've learned a new B&W PS conversion way of doing things. It has to do with lab color, grayscale, layers, layer masks, RGB's, etc etc. Not sure technically what I'm doing, but I experimented with it on this shot and I think it gives it a dimensional feel. jano

Sounds a bit silly but I like the colouring in this shot. Also the shot works well with the smoke in the background & side view of the dog.
