Spirella

Oddly enough, this bulding made ladies underwear too - in this case corsets (and swimwear, I believe) before being used during WWII to make parachutes. It was reknowned as a very good place to work - the employees were very well looked after - the building housed a library, a ballroom, canteen and bath and showers for the mainly female workforce.
Like many, the factory closed and the building fell into disrepair. The local Heritage Foundation have spent a lot of money transforming it into modern offices.
Despite its size, it does not dominate the town, as it is built into a cutting.

Try running it through Shadows 50% and Highlights and you'll be surprised how much more pop it gets.

OK, had another go at this... I think it's got a little more "pop" now... please remember to view at Original size (sorry it's a little larger that way, but there's a lot of detail to see which gets lost any smaller). Phil

This has actually been through my usual pp work, but somehow even after I finished I thought it lacked something. It might be because I was shooting into the sun, not to mention using a very cheap lens... I'll revisit later.
The town? I would have thought from the descriptions given, and the details visible, it ought to crop up quite easily on a Google search (this one certainly will, not so sure about the other one, and they are different towns, albeit only a couple of miles apart). Phil

Phil. I feel that a bit of postprocessing could make this photo shine. Right now it looks as if it is straight out of of the camera, only cropped and resized. Am I right?
