Panama

This was shot at the French Cemetery near the Panama Canal. Each tomb has only a stark cross with a number. Here rest the remains of the canal workers that died in the french attempt to build it.

Hi Rod, thanks for your comments. I guess as I already always post-processed my G3's images, and knowing that DSLR always need post-processing, it was natural.

Well I'll be buggered that lens looks even better than I thought:-) You're doing well getting such nice shots so soon, as DSLRs sometimes disappoint some people when they first start shooting with one.

Hi Mary Anne, This past Dec, I shot my daughter's ballet recital and it went so well money-wise selling to the other parents, as well as my fellow karate parents, that I decided to take the plunge and buy a DSLR. Even my wife approved! So that's how I ended with the 20D. In fact, this Thursday I have a photo session with the girls. You can see the pics I've taken so far here:http://nugar.com/ How I like it? I love it! Learning my way around the G3 really taught me a lot and I found all the functions easily on the 20D, almost without reading the manual. The autofocus is just mind-boggling, the continous shooting setting is a machine gun, the camera itself feels really good in my hands, although it is noticeable larger than the G3. I find that I don't miss the LCD for framing and I've already laid myself on the floor to take a picture. In fact this very picture I had to get down in all fours to take. So if you are thinking about making some money from your camera, go for it. The % of keepers should go up, and the headaches when the camera refuses to lock focus in dim light should go down :)

Nice photo, Nugar. As a fellow G3 user, I'll be especially interesting in hearing how you like your new camera. I'd really like to get one for myself, but I find it hard to justify that kind of money for what is presently only a hobby. I'm thinking of starting up a photo business of some type on a part-time basis. Any suggestions? Peace-- Mary Anne
