Here lies Union soldiers held prisoner at Andersonville.
Andersonville was opened in February 1864 and the Civil War ended April 1865, 14 months later. In that time 45,000 Union soldiers were sent to Andersonville. Approximately 13,000 are still there. Andersonville is now a National Cemetary.
About six or seven rows back and on the left side is the grave of a cousin of my Great Grandfather.
