Love the look of this shot. Great color tones and detail. Splendid job with the setup m8 ;)

Thanks Tommy & young Ric:-)

This pic has loads of sax appeal... very steampunk too, love it.

Improvement letting us focus on the valves and (or but) a bit less gritty. -tv

Thanks Jano, Debi & Brent:-) I don't know why I sort of rush these set up picys. The first one I just sat it on the floor using bounce flash & the carpet as a background, at least I used a black cloth hung on the sax for this one & used a torch for light. I can't seem to be bothered to set up lights & give the shots an hour or two & get nice lighting. I spose we all have different things we like doing within photography a.

I really like the treatment on this one a lot mate. This has lots of character and all those circles are emphasized very well. You did real good here :-)

I don't think I had a chance to see the old Rod, but this looks really good to me. Well done. jano

I like the old gritty look. Plenty of circles. -Doug

I am not too sure about this one - Debi

Thanks Suey, Y, Penny & Tommy:-) This is one of Josh's saxophones He has a nicer one that looks a lot better but is just as old & I've only shot the nice one before. I converted to B&W & in the B&W converter is a box you tick for adding a sepia type tone & it seemed to leave the grit but give some nod to the brass colours

...playing with processing a. I like your well thought-out presentation of this beautiful old instrument.

What a gritty old instrument. I think the color works in a kind of "golden years" way but the grit is what shows most of all, which is a denial of the romance in the "golden" part. I can't score this one (nor do I have to) because it's off the scale. -tv

Hi Rod, Play us a tune. The color/lighting seems a bit off to me compared to other times you have shot this instrument. Not sure why? I do see lots and lots of circles! Yvonne

I like this of the keys and like the color tone in this too. Is this your sons' instrument or perhaps yours?
