Native Pollinator?

I was happy to see this little guy today. He landed on a ladder my wife was carrying for me. More on that in a minute. I was concerned the last several days
because we have many flowering native shrubs and there was an obvious lack of insects. Normally they would be swarmed and the sound of the buzzing could be
heard from many feet away. A bit warmer and sunnier conditions brought a few more out. It will be interesting to see if it progresses with the warmer weather
forecast for this weekend.

Why was my wife carrying the ladder for me? It seems there was a chipmunk (stuck?) in one of the corner posts on the house siding. I could hear it scratching
while I was working this morning and it was driving me crazy. My wife had to carry the ladder as I am still not supposed to lift more than ten pounds
following my surgery two weeks ago. As it turns out, I pulled the siding away and loosened the corner post to find THREE chipmunks. Unfortunately, one had expired.
Maybe from the stress or possibly from the water I sprayed at first to try and get them to come out? I feel badly. I plugged the bottom of the post so they can't get in there anymore.

Fingers crossed but we've still got lots of bees visiting our garden.

Great shot Carl, I hope you aren't overdoing things though! This
looks to me like a European wasp? v

Great shot of this bee (maybe a Halictid, or Andrenid?) and very reassuring that you've seen a few more. Today's first real warmth and the sun brought out some more insects, but by now means the numbers we used to see. Hope it picks up! A sad story about teh chipmunks but glad you were able to save two.
