Northern Water Snake

My wife spotted this guy (or gal) sunning himself on the reeds this morning.
Northern Water Snakes will run to get away, but will strike repeatedly if cornered.
They are non-venomous.

I know one that will not even run to get away! Just stares you down. Will not even yield to a canoe paddle... so I just steer clear of him.
