butterfly

Apologies, I just couldn't come up with a title. Yet, I think there is a barrier expressed here in an abstract figurative way (even if I can't put it into words).

Dearest Michael: I sincerely think that this is the better version...I knew that it was a roll of fabric and that he was drawing the semi-transparent material from that...but, it now being spun out of thin air...from someplace mysterious, I do think is more ambiguous and where you needed to be on this.

Only one person's opinion.

Best wishes, Traveller

Lee, I like your title suggestion, thanks. Traveller and Mary Anne, the white rolled fabric at the bottom is just, well, white rolled fabric. No significance, I just liked it as a compositional element. I think Traveller's idea to remove it and simplify the composition to figure and triangle is excellent...I don't have access to the original but I'll try to edit this small version and upload it.

Elena, your gallery is wonderful. I like the work you are doing, especially working with "normal" people. Your images prove there is beauty everywhere.

Michael, I had been thinking of doing something with a person behind some semi-transparent fabric but could never have come up with an image as powerful as this one. Like Traveller, I'm also puzzled by the rolled fabric at the bottom (phallic perhaps?), although at the same time it suggests a metamorphosis, with the man's widespread arms holding the taut material making me think of a butterfly emerging from a cocoon. As usual, you eschew the ordinary.

Very powerful image.(and I like the lighting!)
P.S. I am new to nude photography and very fascinated by it now.
Especially by normal people bodies (not models).

Darn it! Everyone is hiding the male naughty bits...lol (see victor's note under the Vikas image). Be that as it may, Michael what is that thing at the bottom, the rolled up thingy?

Is it integral to the image, does it have some symbolic value? I won't deign to give you any advice or suggestions...(but think Pirouetting on a gossamer triangle...lol).

To bed and to all a good night.

Best Wishes, Traveller
